How KNEEHAB® Works
KNEEHAB® works by re-educating and strengthening the quadriceps muscle through cycles of contraction and relaxation. It can be used to improve joint stability and treat quadriceps atrophy resulting from a wide range of conditions affecting the knee. It can be used to help avoid or delay surgery and where surgery is required it can accelerate postoperative rehabilitation.
KNEEHAB® Technology Explained
About EMS
EMS re-educates the muscle by sending gentle electrical pulses through pads placed on the surface of the skin. This electrical stimulation applied to the motor nerve causes the muscle to contract, helping to strengthen and build up the muscle over time.
MULTIPATH®
KNEEHAB® incorporates MULTIPATH®, a patented breakthrough stimulation technology developed by neurotech® which enables KNEEHAB® to deliver highly focused, accurately coordinated and comfortable quadriceps contractions.
MULTIPATH® works by sending co-ordinated electrical pulses through the electrode pads on the skin. The co-ordination between the pulse strength and delivery results in an advanced form of EMS technology with greater comfort for the patient and stronger, more effective contractions of the muscle which results in better outcomes and faster recovery times.
MULTIPATH® Explained
There are two channels within MULTIPATH®, Channel 1 and Channel 2.
Channel 1 directly activates the VMO muscle, which is the main stabilizer of the knee. Channel 2 activates the bulk quadriceps muscle which provides a strong, comfortable and highly effective contraction, or activation of the muscle.
Patented Technology
KNEEHAB® incorporates MULTIPATH®, a patented breakthrough stimulation technology developed by neurotech® which enables KNEEHAB® to deliver highly focused, accurately coordinated and comfortable quadriceps contractions.
MULTIPATH® EMS works by creating complex pulses (pulses of varying shape, magnitude & duration) delivered through different electrodes in multiple pathways. This allows current to be concentrated at specific locations. This results in an advanced form of EMS technology with Greater Comfort for the patient and stronger contractions, resulting in better outcomes.
